Veterinarian
Dr. Zhang grew up in Central MD, but now calls Clarksburg, MD home. She discovered her interest in veterinary medicine through research involving animal models of infectious disease and volunteering at local veterinary clinics throughout high school and college. She earned her bachelor’s degree in American Chemical Society-certified Chemistry from Tufts University and her doctor of veterinary medicine from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. During her training, Dr. Zhang developed special interests in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, pain management, and preserving the human-animal bond. She is a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional trained in stress-free animal handling and is currently undergoing advanced training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Chi Institute to provide integrative treatment options to dogs and cats. Dr. Zhang is excited to be a part of the Green Valley Animal Hospital family! Outside of work, Dr. Zhang enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, hiking, puzzling, and playing board games.
